The Color of Angels' Souls: A Novel by Sophie Audouin-Mamikonian

The Color of Angels' Souls: A Novel by Sophie Audouin-Mamikonian
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

At twenty-three, Jeremy is violently murdered. Now, as an Angel, Jeremy realizes that his struggle for survival is far from over. Angels feed off of human emotions, and, as Jeremy is shocked to discover, Angels must in fact provoke the emotions of hatred, love, joy, sadness, fear, and compassion. Since Angels are invisible to humans, they can influence people’s feelings without ever being detected. Only the strongest of sentiments—whether positive or negative—can satisfy an Angel’s appetite.

As Jeremy tries to find out why he was killed, he follows Allison, a beautiful twenty-year-old who witnessed his murder. Watching her day and night, Jeremy begins to fall in love with Allison. But Jeremy’s killer is also following Allison and will do anything to eliminate the only witness to his crime.

Both moving and original, The Color of Angels’ Souls is a uniquely captivating fantasy novel.
