Synopsis
Kira lived the life of a pampered princess of a wealthy Japanese man who mourned the loss of his son, and missing wife. She’d been given everything a girl could want, but nobody was allowed close enough to love or hurt her. All that changed when her life was threatened and he hired the Ravens as her security.
Thane and Garrick never expected to find their Fated, let alone that she’d be touched by a god. The legend of the Kitsune was steeped in mystery, but they’d need all the help they could get to save their Fated from the god who possessed her brother. They’d need to travel into the deepest levels of hell, and fight the Shinigami to save her and her brother.
Kira realizes Thane and Garrick would give up their own lives to give her the family she’d never had. She would fight to hold onto the best things she could ever ask for, her warriors.

Chapter One
“Why
are you two still following me? I told you to leave me alone.” Kira turned to
face the two men who she’d been unable to shake no matter what she did. Even
when she’d gone into the restroom at LaGuardia, switched her clothes, pulled
her hair up in a bun, and covered her head with a stupid ball cap that said I
love NY, they still fell in line behind her.
“Sweetheart, I hate to break it to you, but
where you go, we follow.” Garrick Theon flashed his pearly white teeth at her.
If Kira could, she’d gladly punch him in
the mouth just to see if she could loosen a few of his perfect teeth. His lips
tilted up in a grin she was beginning to hate and love in equal measures. Both
men appealed to her, but that was truly a dangerous path to go down. The last
man she’d thought she loved.
Kira shut that train of thought off before
the memories could resurface, bringing back the shame and heartache she’d
worked so hard to bury.
“Hey now, kitten, what put that look on
your face?” Thantos Odysseus asked. His large hand curled into a fist, almost
making her flinch as he raised it to her cheek, only to gently run it down in
the softest caress.
Thane and G both looked at her, waiting on
her to answer, and it took her a moment to figure out what it was he’d asked.
The look of hurt on Thane’s features made her want to reach out and apologize,
but they were the ones who were invading her space.
“I just don’t understand why you insist on
continuing to be my bodyguards, when clearly I can take care of myself,” Kira
said, throwing her hands up in the air. She could see there was no changing
their minds. However, they didn’t know her, or her country, as well as she did.
Nor did they have two loyal Akitas. Her pets didn’t like anyone but her. She
smiled, imagining the looks on their faces when they saw her four-legged best
friends.
“Thane? I don’t like the look in her eyes.”
Garrick took a step closer to where she stood on the porch of her home.
Being back in Osore-Zan, Japan, where her
mother was from, Kira felt a stronger connection to the woman. “There is
nothing in my eyes except contempt for the both of you. Now, if you’ll both
excuse me, I’m going inside, alone. If you insist on guarding me, you can keep
watch from out here.”
Kira turned on her heel to march inside,
coming to a stop as Garrick, or G to his friends, materialized in her path.
“You can lie to yourself, but not to Thane and I, Neko-Chan.”
“Did you just call me kitten in Japanese?”
She held up her hand. “No, don’t answer that. Just get out of my way.” She knew
they treated her with kid gloves because she was so much smaller than them. She
was only five-foot-three to their six-foot-six and six-foot-seven, if she were
to guess. Okay, if she was being honest, she knew exactly how tall they were.
Having studied them whenever they weren’t looking, Kira could give a detailed
description of each man down to every visible scar.
“You can bitch all you want, Kira, but it
won’t change the fact that you aren’t stepping foot inside until Thane and I
check it out.”
A sense of danger had the hair on the back
of her neck standing on end. She took a step closer to Garrick, placing her
hands on each of his biceps.
“Do you feel that?”
Thane stepped up behind her. “What is it?”
A shiver stole up her spine. “Something is
out there.” She didn’t turn to look out toward the towering trees in the
distance, choosing to focus on G’s light blue eyes. He and Thane’s were almost
identical and changed colors depending on their emotions.
“Is it secure?” Garrick asked Thane.
Kira wanted to protest his going over her
head, literally and physically. The eerie feeling of being watched, marked for
death by something evil, wouldn’t go away. When she placed her hands on G, and
then had Thane at her back, the oily touch recoiled, leaving behind a darkness
that had her stepping closer to G.
“I just scanned the interior, and other
than two beasts that are ready to bite our heads off, yes, it’s secure,” Thane
answered.
Garrick wrapped one arm around her, placing
his body on the outside. “Do you want to let us in?” He indicated the handprint
scanner by the door panel.
She wiped her sweaty palms on her ass, and
hearing Thane murmur something that sounded like he’d like to be her hands made
her smile. Once inside, the two beasts, as Thane called them, came running to
greet her. Garrick tried to push her behind him, but Kira had missed Taji and
Hoshi, her two Akitas, and slid under his arm. They were a beautiful breed of
canine that were very protective and usually didn’t get along well with others.
She hugged the two dogs, letting them lick her face in greeting, before
standing back up. With her back to the two Ravens who refused to leave her
alone, Kira expelled a tired breath. She wasn’t ready to spill her guts, or her
life story to them. Why did her father insist on hiring men who weren’t like
the rest of his hired goons—ones she could easily dismiss?
“We can stand here all day and night, or
you can just spit it out, kitten. I think you know we have more than enough
stamina to outlast you,” Thane said. His words made her wonder just how much
stamina he and Garrick had when it came to the bedroom. The thought alone gave
her pause. Kira hadn’t looked at a man, let alone imagined two men at the same
time sexually, since she was a naïve seventeen-year-old virgin. She kept her
back to the Ravens, hiding her flushed face.
“I’m hungry. Since you both don’t appear to
be leaving anytime soon, I guess you can follow me.” With that, she led the way
to the kitchen. Her father was in their southern home of Sukay Onsen and was
probably a worried mess. Kira contemplated letting him fret but then changed
her mind.
“Have you informed my father where we are?”
she asked the men as she opened the stainless-steel side-by-side fridge. When
she’d decided to come to the Honshu home, she’d asked the housekeeper who was
on call to stock the fridge and freezer. The elderly woman had asked if she was
needed for daily duties, but Kirahad politely declined, saying she would be
traveling most of the time.
“He
is concerned.” She saw Thane on the shiny surface of the doors cross his arms
over his massive chest. Kira wanted to mock his words of her father being
concerned. The only thing Ichiro Mitsuko was concerned with was her making it
past her twenty-fifth birthday. After that his duty to her was done. Kira
snorted.
“You don’t know my father. Did he have you
sign a contract?” Garrick nodded. “Have you read it thoroughly?” She placed the
fixings for stir fry out on the granite island with the built-in gas stove in
the center. Keeping her eyes on the mundane chore at hand, rather than the
knowing gazes of either Thane or Garrick, was harder than it should have been.
“Why all the questions? We’re your
protection detail until your father tells us otherwise,” Thane growled.
She could have pointed out to them the fact
of her birthday being the end date, and that day was fast approaching, but
decided they would be too stubborn to listen to her. Kira didn’t like to waste
time or energy. Instead she focused on the task of making dinner. While she cut
up vegetables and sliced up chicken to fry, she pretended Thane and Garrick
weren’t prowling around her home. Her faithful pets sat in their comfy beds by
the doors overlooking the patio. Every once in a while they would look over at
her and bark, but other than that she was left alone. Or, as alone as she could
get with two huge men, who now parked their gorgeous asses on the barstools
across from her. Their stunning gazes followed her as she tossed the meat and
veggies in the wok. She slid two generous portions on the plates in front of
them and a smaller one for herself. A bottle of sweet red wine was what she was
having with her dinner. She could care less what they had. Picking up the
bottle, along with a glass and her plate, she skirted the end of the counter,
hoping to escape to her suite while they ate their meal in the kitchen. She
forgot they had the ability to dematerialize and reappear in the blink of an
eye. Thane was sitting with chopsticks in his hand one minute, and the next he
was blocking her way—damn the man.
“Excuse me. Did you need something?” Kira
blinked up at him.
Thane leaned down. “And just where do you
think you’re going?”
Politeness forgotten, Kira rolled her eyes.
“To my room. I assume it’s okay since you both have been through every space of
the house?” Taji and Hoshi got up from their beds to stand on either side of
her, their stance clear.
“Fine.” He turned to the side, leaving room
for her to walk past. “Oh, and, Kira, I’m sure I don’t need to tell you this,
but just so we are on the same page…don’t leave the house without one of us.
Not even to go on one of the decks.”
“I’m not a child, Thantos.” Kira wanted to
flip him the bird, but her hands were full so she had to settle for injecting
as much sarcasm into her tone as possible. The way his voice had gotten deep
and growly at the end sent a delicious full body shiver over her that she hoped
he thought was from anger. She was sure she heard him and Garrick mutter
something about proving she wasn’t a child. They both confused her. Kira knew
neither man would have anything to do with her had they not been hired by her
father. Although she was no ugly duckling, she wasn’t on the supermodel level
like she was sure they were used to. Women like Tamara Mejia, who was with Rafe
and Vin. Tamara was of mixed heritage, but with her long, wavy brown hair and
voluptuous body, even Kira had the hots for her. She could picture both Thane
and Garrick with, or even Jaklyn, who was only an inch or so taller than she
was. Jaklyn drew men to her with her vivacious personality, and she had the
most gorgeous red hair. She was also married to two men, and was a shifter.
Both women were so much more than Kira
would ever be, and she knew they were the type of women Thane and Garrick were
drawn to.
Yes, she’d helped draw the Kitsunetsuki out
of Jaklyn’s mother, and not many others could have accomplished what she’d
done. But it had been a team effort between the Ravens and her, and she
definitely couldn’t have killed the shifter that had held the being once she’d
transferred the trickster into it.
Kira
thought back to Jaklyn’s mother Talia and the years she’d been trapped inside
her own mind, battling the demon that’d possessed her. She shuddered at the
memory of pulling the Kitsunetsuki out, and holding it as the Ravens brought
the shifter to her. Knowing Talia was now safe and whole made the process worth
the nightmares she had now.
Kira’s mind was still boggled at the fact
there were honest-to-goodness gods and goddesses, not to mention Ravens who
were demi-gods, walking the earth. Two of whom were in her kitchen like normal
men, eating her food.
By the time she finished eating, she had
drank over half the bottle of wine and was feeling pleasantly buzzed. Probably
not the smartest thing she could do, but Kira needed something to relax her.
She filled another glassful and took it
with her while she ran a bath, pouring some essential oils into the flowing
stream. After lighting a few candles, she stripped and stepped into the hot
water. A contented sigh escaped her as she sank into the large soaker tub.
With a push of a button, she had music
playing quietly in the background and the overhead lights turned down, and
before she knew it her wine glass was empty again. She let her mind drift while
she sifted her hands through the water, wondering what it would be like to be
normal. If she were more like Tamara or Jaklyn, she’d take on both men at once.
Her thoughts brought images to her mind
that made her glad she was naked and alone in her suite. She was also extremely
happy she had the ability to block others from her thoughts. Kira closed her
eyes and pictured both men in the tub with her. She imagined Garrick would be
the more forceful lover while Thane the tender one. A sort of yin to yang.
She ran her right hand down her chest,
knowing the two men in her house both had calluses that would feel sublime on
her flesh. The wine she’d drank made her wish for things she had no right to,
but there in the safety of her tub, she let herself pretend. Above the tub was
a huge skylight with the moon’s rays reflecting down on her closed eyelids.
Along with the candles, the privacy of her bath gave her a sense of security,
even with the floor-to-ceiling windows that made up the wall beside the bath.
The water began to cool, so she turned the
faucet back on with just the hot side running and refilled her glass with the
last of the wine. She plucked at her nipples with her thumbs and fingers
firmly, an arrow of pleasure shooting to her core. But still it wasn’t enough.
It was never enough for Kira. No stranger
to masturbation, she’d been self-pleasuring herself for years, and even after
coming so hard she was sure her eyes would cross, there was always an emptiness
at the end. Not this time, she swore. This time she would put a face, or faces,
to who was with her.
The need to come was almost painful. She
gripped the tips of her breasts more firmly, pulling at them with a rougher
touch than ever before that sent a spike of heated arousal straight to her
clit. She knew exactly how and where to touch herself for maximum release, but
never had she been so rough. The harder touch made the sensation that much more
exquisite.
She ran her right hand down the flat
expanse of her abdomen to between her thighs, tapping her clit as she passed
it. Kira was sure she’d go crazy at the sensations that little movement
brought. Wanting to prolong her pleasure and needing it to end warred side by
side.
Her body jerked when she slid two fingers
into her pussy and thrust them deep, using the palm of her hand to press
against her exposed clit. She nearly came on first contact, almost tumbled into
a release that wouldn’t have satisfied her for more than a moment, but Kira
jerked her hand back. With just her fingers on her breasts and inside herself,
Kira twisted and pulled with her left hand and thrust back and forth with her
right. The clenching tissue of her vagina spasmed each time she twisted and
pinched her nipples, making her body arch as she neared orgasm. She added a
third finger, alternating between twisting and scissoring them, creating a
combination that made it almost impossible for her to stop the impending
ecstasy waiting to tear through her.
Her head pressed against the pillow on the
back of the tub. “Oh, yes. So close.”
The sound of lightning and thunder striking
had her eyes flying open. Water sloshed over the edge of the tub, making her
realize she’d left the water running during her fantasy.
“Kira?” Thane’s voice boomed from outside
her room.
She scrambled to turn off the water and
pull the plug, looking at the open door. Above her, the moon had a red streak
that was slowly covering it.
Outside the window overlooking the woods,
she expected to see lightning. Instead she felt the same thing as earlier in
the day. With the safeguards her father had in place, the windows were designed
where you could see out, but not in. However, she felt like someone or
something was watching her. Stepping out of the tub, feeling exposed for the
first time, she tried to figure out a way to hide from prying eyes.
“Why didn’t you answer me?” Thane came to a
stop in the doorway.
Author Bio
I’m a wife and mother who is a retired stay at home mom of 2. I say retired because my youngest is 14 and my oldest is 20. When my baby went to school, reading saved my sanity, and then the same year he started school, I was diagnosed with Cancer, again reading saved my sanity. When I recovered and realized how quickly life could change, I made a bucket list. The number one thing was to live. Check. On top of that list was to become a published author. Check. Eight years later I have accomplished that goal and several others.
I live in the Midwest, but I”m a southern girl with only a slight twang who says y’all quite frequently, and am known to say “Bless Your Heart” A LOT. If you know what that means, you do not want to be the one I say that to, lol. I cuss worse than if a trucker and a sailor were put together, but I do it with class *WEG*.
I write what I love to read, erotic romance. My books are definitely full of lots of story, but I leave nothing to the imagination in or out of the bedroom. My hope is that after readers have read one of my stories, they fall in love with the characters as much as I have.
The best part of my new journey is that I get to create new worlds, and have all kinds of stories in my head just waiting to be written. I truly love to hear from readers. You can find me on Twitter, Facebook or my website, but I’m on Facebook ALL the time, so find me. I’d love to hear from you.
