~*~ Obsessed by Books arc given in exchange for an honest review ~*~

"This is completely f@cking perfect. I glance around the table and I'm filled with the deepest sense of belonging that rocks me to the inner most depths of my tortured soul...This is my family. It's not traditional, but it's mine, and I will do everything in my power to protect what's mine. Down to my last breath."

And Dylan really would sacrifice himself for anyone he loves. He is the humorous yet dependable right hand man of Fianna Fail, a drug runner and a soldier of destiny. He is relied upon to protect his Family, providing back up for Ethan, Troy and Sean. With his own messed up childhood he places his rank within the organisation as a priority as they are the only family he has ever had. He is Troy's best friend and everyone respects him. He lightens the grimness of some of the scenes and at times it's easy to forget the part he plays. His boxer shorts had me smiling throughout a scene where they were in jeopardy of becoming toast! This story is cleverly written to intertwine drama, danger, suspense and humour into one lovingly crafted story. It follows on directly from Troy, book one in this series, and I totally recommend reading them in order.

Fiannna Fail owns Palms, Florida. They are an organised crime family that owns the police, runs drugs and whores and everything in between. Troy, Ethan and Dylan are the next in line for the throne of the empire and have been raised in the brutality and expectation of taking over from a young age. Each of them honed and trained in killing, subterfuge and stealth. In this novel we learn just how well these men work together as a unit to take out all threats to their Family. Hunting down the threat and seeking retribution for the death of Troy's mother the boys continue to track down the perpetrator...

The ongoing plot is developed well and has a tantalizing blend of tension, suspense to make the cat and mouse game played totally enthralling. Add to this a chance meeting of a broken Angel and you have Dylan's story. He falls from the moment he sees her...something catches his awareness and his heart is taken. Having watched his best friend
become pussy whipped Dylan is fast to know what is happening to him.

Raven, who is Trisha's cousin, convinced to go to a party where she crosses paths with D. The way she instantly responds to him terrifies and confuses her as she is living a nightmare yet Dylan manages to stir a deep longing inside her. Thrown together by the meddling Trisha who is unaware of the daily torment Raven suffers, life drastically changed course as Ravens mother ODs. The scabs are ripped mercilessly away to leave open wounds but can Dylan help to heal her?

Can this broken Angel be saved by a tarnished anti hero? Are the threats to the Family too great to overcome? Not everyone will survive and there will be blood...lots of it. I am not ashamed to admit I had tears rolling down my cheek reading the horror of Raven's life and the events that had shaped her. She instantly became a favourite character when she punched a man in her introductory scene! She is sassy and a fighter. A true match to Dylan's fun loving yet honorable character. This book had me smiling, chewing my nails and peaking out from under my duvet...

Another 5 gut wrenching star read.

OMG just when I thought you couldn't get hotter than Troy, I'm introduced to Dylan, of coursehis a bad boy with a big heart, hut his humorous and had a soft side. Raven is an awesome character. but she's afraid of rejection by Dylan, but when these two are together BOOM they are perfect togeyher. Just as the first book the characters are awesome and we learned a little bit about Ethan and I hope to see his story.

I received an advanced reading copy of Dylan for an honest review through Obsessive Pimpettes.
If you haven't read Troy, I suggest you read it first, as the main characters are introduced and the story line continues from Troy into Dylan. Dylan's a lovable, fun-loving guy who's also the drug runner for the Fianna Fail mafia family. He has one true love in his life, his mother, who has been left bed ridden and basically a vegetable from a car accident when Dylan was a little boy. He has no place in his heart for anyone else, that is, until he meets Raven. Raven has been abused by her step father and rejected by her drug addicted mother, and is biding her time until she can get away from her awful life. Throughout the book, there's another part of the story that involves revenge and murder. Will Dylan's association with his mafia family keep them apart? Or will Raven's evil step father get his revenge? This story has it's sad moments and happy ones, but is definitely worth reading. Once I started it, I couldn't put it down! I can't wait for Ethan's story!

Excerpt
Here is a small excerpt from book two in my Fianna Fail series!!!! If you haven't read book one, Troy, get it now for only $0.99, and get ready for Dylan! Coming March 8th
“Are you going to the fight this weekend? I know Trisha will be there, and I won’t even lie and say I don’t want you to be there.” Dylan’s words make my heart stop and my palms start to sweat. Say no, Raven! You can’t be close to him like this!
“Yeah, I’ll be there.” What? That’s the opposite of no, Raven!
Dylan’s smile is so bright it rivals every star I’ve ever seen. I can’t look away. It’s not one thing in particular about him that pulls me in, it’s everything. How could anyone not want to be close to him? How could I not want to be close to him?
“I’m still not sleeping with you.” I say it just as the door swings open, and an extremely disheveled Trisha and Ethan stumble in. I look at them briefly before I shift my gaze back to Dylan.
His expression is amused as he brings a hand up to run soft fingers over the skin of my cheek. I tense from head-to-toe, but if he notices he doesn’t say anything about it.
“I still haven’t asked.” His words are only loud enough for me to hear, but when I look back at Trisha she is smiling like a kid in a candy store, and I know it’s because of our close proximity.
“Let’s go, man, we have things to take care of.” Ethan’s words seem to snap Dylan out of whatever trance he had been in.
He stands, and my eyes follow his movements until my head is tipping back just to see his face towering above me.
“See you ladies this weekend.” He winks at me, gives a slight wave to Trisha, and then follows Ethan out of the room.

~*~ Obsessed by Books copy given in exchange for an honest review ~*~

"I prefer to think of the spring as a warrior fighting against the cold. Don't underestimate it's strength. The cold may win a battle or two, but the heat will win the war and the flowers will bloom."

As does this well written story of childhood love from afar and the path walked to find one another. In this debut novel we are introduced to Fianna Fail, The Family that owns Palms, Florida. They are organised crime untouchables that run drugs, whores and everything in between. We meet the young guns Troy, Dylan and Ethan who are the successors to the family empire and have been raised as such from a young age. They are respected and feared in equal measure with no shortage of money or woman at their disposal.

We meet Troy as he visits his father in jail and we learn about the mark of the Family, a small green clover that is a symbol of loyalty and belonging. Instantly we are drawn in to a story of intrigue and suspense as Troy battles to uncover who murdered his mother when he was but a little boy. He recounts through memories and dreams the devastating events of his childhood and the things he has witnessed but also we appreciate his strong moral code. There are no shades of grey just black and white - no hurting women or children ever. He is reckless with his love life and a total jackass as he believes wrongly that his love is unrequited, even sleeping on an off/on basis with Addi who is Kaci's cousin! But have I mentioned he is ripped and packing...and not just a smoking gun either. Troy is the complete arrogant, totally gorgeous, alpha male package.

Kaci is the only daughter of Ronan Quinn, one of the heads of The Family. Meeting Troy aged 12 has ruined for all other men as only he has ever made her face flame with heat and cause her to be so aware of herself as a woman. Believing Troy doesn't see her that way as he carelessly works his way through any woman on offer, she tries to avoid him at all costs until her father pairs them up to get her more involved in the business. Although she is a spoilt mob princess we see that she is a sassy lady that can handle herself as she drug runs and deals with the Madame at their whore house. Going on a business with Troy for a week leaves her no choice but to face her hidden feelings and his...

Throwing a spanner in the works is the threat of an impending war with another powerful mob family as Troy seeks the truth about his mother's murder. He will go to any lengths to seek retribution. This story has many twists and turns with one I did not see coming. Can Troy convince Kaci that he wanted her to be his forever from the moment he met her tennyears ago? Can she forgive his previous bad boy man whoring ways? Can her best friend Marcus accept she will never be his? Will they get the chance to explore their feelings or will the past catch up to them?!?! You need to read it to find out I guarantee you won't be disappointed. I am now away to delve straight in to Dylan's story with his goofy grin and clever mind he has also captured my interest! Not to be greedy but I'm hoping Sean features too ;)

Five Fianna Fail Family Stars.

This book had my emotions running wild. I loved troy. he is the perfect bad boy with a big heart., when he loves, he loves hard. Troy has always loved Kace even though that wasn't path he chose, but there was a reason. I rooted for Troy and Kace , I mean you just can't give up on a 10 year love affair. Troy is taking over the lead of the family, so when he is sent on a road trip, Kace is told by her father to go with Troy, the chemistry is still strong, will they get their chance at a HEA. loved. loved this book. it had great characters and I can't wait to read about Dylan.

Recommends it for: Anyone
Hot, sexy, gritty!
What an awesome first book for S. Kline! Once I started it I couldn't put it down. Troy Donovan is sex personified. Women throw themselves at his feet and he takes advantage of it. He's a self-proclaimed man whore, but his heart belongs to Kaci Quinn.Ten years ago, at the age of twelve, Troy fell in love with Kaci at first sight. But then, as fate would have it, she caught him kissing her cousin, Addie. Kaci felt the same for Troy, but he broke her heart and she's promised herself to stay away from him, although she longs for him from a distance.

Both of their families are part of a powerful Mafia family, Fianna Fáil, and Troy will one day take the reins along with his two cousins. Troy leaves for a week to avenge his mother's death & Kaci's father insists she go with him, wanting her to become more involved in the business. Troy decides this is the time to reveal his feelings to Kaci.

What follows is a myriad of murder, betrayal, and heart break.

S. Kline takes us on a roller coaster ride of the harsh life inside the mafia, the loyalty of its members, and a love story that makes you wonder throughout if there will be a HEA. This is not for the faint of heart, filled with violence, drugs, murder, and elicit sexual situations. If you like down and dirty, you'll LOVE "Troy".
