Ryan
When two dark souls connect the draw is too dominant to ignore and the obsession of owning the only color to brighten my dark world too unrelenting to not obey. I left her alone so she could live a normal life but I was weak, how can she live a normal life after so much sinister chaos invaded her world, summoning her own darkness to the surface? The depraved devil that is me now had an anchor, someone to venture into the black abyss with. Normal wasn’t a path ever set for Cereus. She was her Father’s daughter but my soul mate, even if I disputed ever owning one. She was struggling without me in her life, the vacant ache inside her leaking out. I can’t not go to her, the need is too strong and like with all of my urges I embrace it.

~*~ Obsessed by books arc given in exchange for an honest review ~*~
"Would you rather be the person doing the cutting or the person apologising for their blood staining their clothes while they bleed out?"
The third in the Empathy, this follows on from where we left off in the previous book (hint to read the others in the series first!). Cereus has moved to college and is trying to play out the facade of being normal. After her time spent with Uncle Ryan, her struggle is becoming harder and harder as his guidance is starting to shout clearly in her mind whenever she becomes stressed. No longer wanting to be a sheep she is the wolf lurking in plain sight, surrounded by her unwitting prey. Unable to deny her inner urgings Cereus starts to play with the people that try to bully her.
This novella charters the break in Cereus as she is left feeling hollow from recent events, unbelieving that her time with Ryan is over as he was the only other person to ever really get her. She is grieving but is aware that others worry for her as she shouldn't feel that way towards a monste, as society has deemed him. Lost and alone yet surrounded by "normal" people Cereus is twirling round and round in the pyscopath gutter...will she snap or will the haunting memories of Ryan complete the missing part of her soul?
Without spoilers this is another mind f@@k of a read, that males you feel slightly dirty for enjoying it so damn much! The plot moves quickly with many plot twists that afterwards leave you reeling. It's a definite read again and again type series as it's so cleverly written you gain a better appreciation with every pass through. Amazing! I love to hate Ryan, he is so hard to define. He is everything you wish you were when you're angry, he acts without hesitation, seeing human weakness and exploiting the seven deadly sins quite fittingly. Making no apologies for taking people's lives and playing with them only deeming a few people worthy enough to escape his superiority. And he has made an excellent scholar in his niece who has taken to the challenge with ease...ahhhhh it's a beautifully dark twisted read.
Five wonderfully blood soaked stars.
