Love the Way You Lie by Skye Warren is book 1 in the Stripped series. It's a tale full of lies, deceit and danger. The lengths we go to protect, wreak vengeance, revenge and what happens when those plans collide with someone else wanting the same thing.
This is Honor Moretti's story. She's the daughter of a Mafia don and she's on the run. She's escaped from her ruthless fiancée and the Mob which was her gilded prison for 18 years only to flee to another form of imprisonment: a life of hiding and existing in anyway she can. I hadn't read the prequel Tough Love but I have read Prisoner by Skye Warren so I knew they'd be a great suspenseful plot and characters that caused me to think outside the box for their motives and beliefs. I didn't feel I had missed anything crucial to this book's plot by not reading Tough Love but I am going to go back and read it just as I am wanting to capture everything I can to do with this new series!!
This is a one sitting read with an addictive plot, suspenseful premise that lasts to the very last pages and additional characters who I hope we will get more on in future books as they each left me with many questions about how their connected to events in this book. Book 2 Better When It Hurts is out in June and I can't wait!!
