Title: Fatal
Series: Portland Street Kings #2
Author: Evie Harper
Genre: Contemp Romance w/ Suspense
Release: March 30, 2016
Mackson King’s past is a dark, horror-filled chasm that could swallow the toughest, most dangerous men. A member of the notorious Portland Street Kings, he’s impossible to intimidate—but he can be hurt. He learned that the hard way, thanks to her. Lana. The one woman capable of easing his nightmares, of soothing his demons, was the very woman who shredded his heart. She took away his torments, only to become one of them.
Born into a family who lost their way long before she arrived, Lana Scavello has carefully enforced a steely interior that shields her heart from harm. But that doesn’t mean she can’t cry, and she’s spared Mackson King more tears than he ever deserved. Finding Lana at her most vulnerable, saving her when she felt the most invisible, he burrowed beneath her defenses to carve his own personal door to her soul. Only to decimate it, along with everything she’d ever known.
Now, years later, fate has thrown the couple together once more. Pain, heartbreak and betrayal will explode to the surface, leaving both of them raw, aching, exposed. And that’s when their true love story begins…
This series just gets better and better.
This is the story of Mack and Lena, both of these characters have suffered so much in their childhood, but they have come together and like they are two halves of the same coin.
Both heal each other and show that even though they have suffered horrendous pasts their futures can be filled with love and happiness.
You will be on an emotional rollercoaster with these two as it is hard to fathom such horrific abuse happening to children.
A fantastic read and Evie has handled the subject exceptionally well.

it was amazing
"I want that and so much more with you...I see you, Dove."
And a childhood romance shatters in the face of a perceived wrong as two tribes go to war and love is buried as they find themselves on the wrong side of a battle neither one chose to take part in. Lana is the daughter of a family with Mafia connections, sister to The Poison Boys that has for some time been bitter rivals with The Portland Street gang. The war has reached a climax and the winner will take all even if the price is paid in blood. Lana finds herself in the one place she can't fathom - back in the arms of Mack. The boy who saw her and loved her for herself but walked away when family loyalty meant he needed to choose. Used as a bargaining chip to subdue her brother Lana is forced to face her past and deal with her suppressed emotions. Mack is a man of few words and he doesn't waste them, he is honest in his approach with her. She stole his heart years ago and it's been an empty raw wound ever since. Can the forced close quarters make them realise the need to forgive the past so they can have a future?
Fatal is the second book in this series and we learn a little more of the origins of some of the familiar faces. The plot thickens as not everything is as it appears to be and they all have skeletons in their closets that seem determine to be unearthed. Can The Portland Street Kings save their own from the past?
This story gripped me from the opening pages and I was desperate to discover how we ended up on the railway tracks staring at impending death...it's a fabulous talent that this author has to grab the reader and get them invested in the story right from the word go. Action packed with a perfect blend of angst, drama and romance I loved Lana and Mack's story with all it surprises along the way . As for Della....oooh evil ending! Roll on June I can't wait for Tail.
A four and a half star read.
