Whiplash. I have whiplash...no other way to describe the way this book made me feel. I despise Anderson but I also feel pity for him and have hope he will find his peace after all. Kloe, poor unseeing Kloe, is a pawn in a game much more complex than she can ever imagine. Fate keeps throwing them together and fracturing what they know as its all lies and half truths. With each revelation Kloe becomes one shade of grey darker, embracing the devil on her back. The abuse and suffering separately and together they survive is harrowing and paints a darkly desolate picture of two children and now adults that are left irreparably damaged and twisted. Their souls are stained black and whilst Kloe strives for the light Anderson thrives in the shadows. Their story is one of passion, survival and pain. It's dark. It's twisted. And it has blown my mind.
A definite must read of the year so far. I was taken on a journey that will haunt me until I read the next part of their story. It's devious and twisted and I loved it!
