Title: Flow
Series: The Beat and the Pulse #6
Author: Amity Cross
Genre: Fighter Romance Stand Alone
Hamish “Goblin” McBride is a formidable cage fighter with a heart of solid gold…until the woman of his dreams smashes it to pieces.
The only things he has to soften the blow are his fists and the bottom of a whisky bottle. He's got more than his fair share of problems and being heartbroken wasn't part of the plan.
Enter Lori, the mysterious rock chick who works behind the bar at The Underground, the illegal cage fighting league that's Hamish's home away from home.
With a boatload of her own problems, starting something with Hamish might just be more trouble than it's worth…
Or they might just be made for one another after all.
it was amazing
"The world didn't wait for the brokenhearted. It just got busy rotating around the sun and didn't pause for an insignificant speck that served piss behind a long bench of germ encrusted wood."
Lori is the girl behind the bar at The Underground, with a blue streak in her hair and tattoos covering her body in her story. Having had her heart trampled by a fighter in the past she has perfected the blase front of a woman who is just not interested. A man drowning his sorrows in cheap alcohol is a common occurrence for Lori yet when Hamish washes up at her bar her heart strings are immediately pulled.
Hamish is solitary, lone man mountain of a world of pain and burden. His motivation to fight in The Underground is a secret he carries into every bout. Struggling with the cards fate has dealt him he feels unable to share his heavy load with anyone. So when Lori extends an offer of friendship she sparks something within him. A slow burns begins for the both of them as the past has taught them both lessons to be wary of trusting others. But can the love story of Hamish and Lori have a happy ever after?
Flow is the sixth in the series and continues to build the sense of family, friendship and belonging which is the undercurrent in this series. The characters from other books make an appearance as The Pulse gym is the heart of their make shift family. The story of Hamish is one I have been eagerly waiting for as he is a good guy in a bad place and I was intrigued to find out what made him tick. The truth behind the man is heart breaking and the weight of the world is truly on his shoulders. Lori is a feisty yet insecure leading lady that is the perfect match for Hamish. Ballsy when needed and tough yet feminine she is the broken pieces of his shattered heart.
Flow is another five star addition to this series.
