BLOG TOUR: BEAUTIFUL ILLUSIONS by Addison Moore @AddisonMoore

BEAUTIFUL ILLUSIONS by Addison Moore

September 2014
Beautiful Oblivion, #2

BOOK SUMMARY:

Sometimes the past comes back to haunt you—in the most heartbreakingly beautiful way.

Gavin’s story.

I fell in love hard and fast as lightning. As quick as she came into my world she was gone. Demi said she has secrets—that she’s done horrible things. Who hasn’t? I’m not going to let the past determine our future. Sometimes love lays forever at your feet and sometimes you need to fight for it. Demi is worth every damn battle we’ll have to go through. I’d burn down the world just to keep her safe. And, after what I’ve discovered, I just might have to. All I need with Demi is one more night to convince her we’re worth it. And that one night is going to cost me everything.

Review by Jen Giggles Sidekick Pimpette

*Warning:  I write between a personal and analytic stand point with my reviews. One minute I am talking to you like I’m your friend and then the next I sound all smart and stuff.  Enjoy!
What an interesting tale between a whore and a man-whore. I am not kidding when I say this is how the two lead characters describe themselves to each other at some point in the story. This read is a soft and light hearted tale.
The main plot focuses around two people, Gavin and Emmy (really Demi), who have damaged pasts with abuse and loss. They both use sex as a tool to cope with their pain and loss. Do you think I just described a Lifetime movie? Well, that’s what it felt like when I read this story.
Demi and Gavin first meet at his cabin. Demi showed up to his place thinking he was one of her “Johns” and turned out she went to the wrong place. Awkward! But really that’s where the story of the couple takes off. They go through the ups and downs of trusting and learning to care for one another. The end ties up all loose ends from their past and gives them an opportunity to have a happy future.
I felt as though the story was used a general tone and not much descriptive words to truly grab my attention as a reader. The story was well written but could be further developed. Because of this, I would give this story a 3 out of 5.
