About the Author: 

C.M. Stunich was raised under a cover of fog in the area known simply as Eureka, CA. A mysterious place, this strange, arboreal land nursed Caitlin's (yes, that's her name!) desire to write strange fiction novels about wicked monsters, magical trains, and Nemean Lions (Google it!). She currently enjoys drag queens, having too many cats, and tribal bellydance.

Always a fan of the indie scene and 'sticking it to the man,' Ms. Stunich decided to take the road less traveled and forgo the traditional publishing route. A gorgeous male character what else can I ask for.

If you read this book there will be tears at the end, I can tell you that this has a cliffhanger but it's well worth the read.

I finally get a closer inspection of this mysterious stranger. I love what I see. Ryan has to be close to six feet tall with broad shoulders and a defined waist I could wrap my legs around. I bet he has that v thing happening and seriously chiseled abs. I can tell he works out and definitely has an athletic build, but it’s his smile that lights up his whole face and those eyes….golden brown with a hint of green. I never knew hazel could be so alluring. They’re the perfect complement to his sandy brown hair that I would love to run my fingers through and tug on while we make out in the supply room. Not that I would do that or anything, just hypothetically speaking. His tan skin is seriously sexy making it look like he just came back from an exotic vacation. What are the odds of seeing this guy twice in the first hour I’ve been here? I will chalk it up to beginners luck. Surely that applies to meeting strangers and not just board games. I snap back to reality, realizing I am openly gawking, and finally manage to speak.

Excerpt Two

Looking around, I spot hazel deliciousness. Walking over to me, Ryan has an adorable smirk on his face I know I won’t be able to resist. This guy is going to be my weakness and I don’t even know anything about him other than he wears larger scrubs than I do. This is a definite point in his favor. “Ryan, I didn’t expect to see you here.” I say for the second time in two days as I try to hide my cheeks behind my bottle of beer. I know my face is flushed from his presence.

“And why’s that?” he asks without hesitation.

“I come here all the time and have never seen you. So either you’re following me again or this is your first time here.”

“For the record, I’m not following you, although I would definitely enjoy that. I’ve been here before; I guess you never noticed because I definitely wouldn’t have let you forget me.”

“Is that so? Someone thinks highly of himself,” I say comfortably

“Are you going to pretend you don’t feel something when you see me? I see the way your cheeks flush and your eyes widen just a little when you look at me. You did the same thing in the parking garage and in the hallway at the hospital. Yesterday, you almost sat in the water fountain when you heard my voice. I like knowing I affect you. It makes me certain you won’t tell me no if I ask you to dance right now.”

Excerpt Three

The song ends and we are left in the middle of the dance floor staring at each other. Neither of us makes a move to say anything else. Why can’t I just say yes like any other normal girl would? One of the bartenders is on the small stage announcing a drink special and something about a band starting in fifteen minutes. I’m too busy looking into Ryan’s eyes to really care about either of those two things right now. Before I have a chance to get my words of acceptance out, Ryan decides to end the moment.

“Think about it, about what I said. It’s just a date and I don’t care if we do it like everyone else or not. Well I care how we do it but that isn’t important right now.” The heat in his gaze makes me take a step back, not because I’m not feeling it, but because I am feeling it. I’ve never had a reaction quite like this one before. I’m quickly figuring out Ryan isn’t like most guys and I think he’s just the adventure I need to help break out of my shell.

A beautiful emotional fantastic read.

This book is well worth it, it is beautifully written, there is a cliffhanger but it's almost worth it.

You can relate a lot in this book.

“I don’t see how we can expect to travel around and not change my appearance,” Columbia said for the hundredth time since they returned from their horrible encounter.

“I will not have you destroying your hair because of that monster you killed,” he replied. His voice let her know he wasn’t in the mood for argument.  “It’s bad enough he drove you to destroy your body and almost destroyed your soul.”

“I was talking about your ass,” he replied and chuckled, a low mirthful noise that rumbled in his massive chest. “The stripes I lay on it with the crop. Or the marks I leave with my bare hands.”

“Oh...that,” she said and squirmed against him, thinking about the crazy sensation of being held down and punished. How pain, being her constant companion, had finally become her closest ally under his care. When she had been alone, pain had been a release from her misery, and escape from the anguish she carried with her at all times. With Dimitri it had become a way to lose control, let go of the misery and let pain guide her higher. It enhanced her pleasure in ways she never thought possible, so much so that she almost couldn’t remember what it felt like to loathe the pain she had once inflicted on her own body.
