  excerpt

He didn't look up at me when he spoke. He was sopping up hollandaise sauce with a biscuit. "We should do this again, Ettie. Next weekend. How about it?" My heart was suddenly thundering in my ears. I watched him as he pointedly focused on cleaning his plate. "Are you asking me to be your girlfriend?" I asked. He finally looked up. Those blue eyes were hypnotic. And heartbreaking. "I'm asking you to have another fun weekend with me. That's what I'm asking." My eyes fluttered as they started to sting. "Do you need to get to know me better before asking me to be your girlfriend?" His jaw muscles tensed. "Ettie, I..." "Look, Wyatt. I have had just the absolute best time of my life with you this weekend. I have all the information I need to know I want to be in a relationship with you." He snorted and leaned back in his chair. "You don't know shit about me, Ettie. This was fun. But it was superficial and you know it." My chest constricted. I had to take a moment to swallow back the pain. "It wasn't superficial. I'm sorry it didn't mean as much to you as it did to me..." "It meant plenty and that's why I want to see you again. So let's do it, Ettie. Next weekend. We'll meet at the bar Friday and maybe we could road trip down to Gulf Shores or something. Or we could go zip-lining up at Cave City. All kinds of fun shit we could do together. That's what I want." "I want to go home with you." He looked away and shook his head in frustration.

I received an arc in exchange for an honest review

This book is the third book in the series and I think that this series gets better as it goes along.

Chelsea has a way of writing that draws you in and keeps you engaged.
The characters were great and I think that Jack really was good.

A well written book and a good read.

Smoldered Full Wrap

Title: Smoldered Author: Rachel Blaufeld

Smoldered Teaser: With Quinn handled, I turned my full attention to the man who both gloriously consumed and scarily haunted my thoughts. At the moment he happened to be snaking his way down my body with his tongue, pausing at the dip in my belly, licking and blowing, then sweeping his mouth gently down a path marked by him, making his way to the screaming, burning heat between my legs. “Ash, I thought you mentioned coffee and breakfast,” I said with a halfhearted tug on his hair. He looked up at me with those eyes. Neither shiny silver nor smoky gray, but somewhere in the middle, they were a quiet inferno, smoldering when he said, “First, I’m going to have some room service, and then we’ll have a proper breakfast with coffee, doll.” Then the man went back to what he had been doing before I interrupted him.

EXCERPT:

I cut off her rambling by quickly spinning her around and crushing my mouth to hers. The kiss is so hard and fierce that she lets out a high-pitched moan of surprise. I move my hands to cup her face and continue controlling the kiss, plunging my tongue into the depths of her mouth, until she finally relents and surrenders herself to the moment. Wrapping her wet hands from the salad washing around my neck, she hikes up her right leg and curls it around my body pulling me closer until our hips fit perfectly together. “Oh Jesus, Gracie.” I pant as we both gasp for breath, and then devour one another’s mouths again.

We’re so lost in our passionate embrace that we jump apart when we hear, “Oh, for the love of God, Cole! A mother really shouldn’t have to witness her children fornicating on the kitchen counter. Plus, I’ve always told you… No snacks before dinner.” My mom chuckles with a smile on her face.

“Really, Mom?” April shakes her head as she walks in the open French doors leading off the back deck, her arms filled with covered platters.

“What?” Mom asks innocently, as she moves to the fridge and starts putting things in. “He looked like he was about to devour poor Grace; I’m surprised she’s still breathing.”

By this time, Gracie has untangled her body from mine; and when I look at her face, she is bright red, clearly mortified at being caught by my parents and sister.

“Oh, now, don’t be embarrassed, Grace. Even after all these years, John still can’t keep his hands to himself. And oh my, what those hands can do…”

“MOM!” April and I screech at the same time, horrified by the images that have just inserted themselves into our brains. Gracie’s loud, vivacious laughter fills the room, all traces of her embarrassment erased.

HAPPY RELEASE DAY Stripping the Billionaire (Heirs of Damon #4) BY Noelle Adams @NoelleAdams3

Stripping the Billionaire2

Title: Stripping the Billionaire (Heirs of Damon #4)
Author: Noelle Adams
Release Date: 9/9/2014

Synopsis: For the last eight months, Mandy has lived across the hall from a caveman.

He won’t trim his beard, he mostly talks in grunts, and he’ll hardly emerge from his cave of an apartment. Ben might be a grumpy mess, but she kind of likes him anyway. She’s not attracted to him, of course. Not at all. Those stray feelings are merely a fluke. She’s looking for a man who has it all together, and Ben isn’t even close.

Benjamin Damon is heir to a billion-dollar corporate empire, but he has put his family and that whole lifestyle behind him. No one knows who he is now—not even his pretty princess of a neighbor who refuses to leave him alone.

When she ropes him into taking her with him to work on his mother’s historic Savannah home, he knows it’s a mistake. Mandy represents the world he’s tried so hard to escape, and he can’t let one woman strip him of the new man he’s tried to become. The more he’s with her, though, the more he wants her. Despite his best efforts, he’s falling for her hard—and dreading the day she finds out all of his lies.

  Get to Know Noelle Adams:

How did you come up with the idea for this story? I’ve had the idea for this book for three years now, since I plotted out the entire Heirs of Damon series all at once. I can’t exactly remember how I came up with the idea, except I know I wanted the contrast between Ben, with his full beard and grumpy attitude, and Mandy, with her perfect appearance and cheerful disposition.

Where do you find your inspiration? I most often get inspired by random things in my life. For instance, I was inspired for one scene in Stripping the Billionaire when I was sitting in church and thinking that Benjamin’s mother would definitely go to church. I’m also often inspired by other stories (books, television, movies, etc.). It’s usually one little thing that ends up launching the story. For instance, I got the idea for A Negotiated Marriage after watching a scene in a TV show that had a woman rushing around, late for work and wearing very high heels. The show had nothing to do with a marriage-of-convenience, but for some reason, that scene inspired me for Molly. It’s usually a little, random thing, and then the story grows out of it.

Is there anything you find particularly challenging in your writing? There’s a frustration I often feel when I have so many stories I want to tell but not enough time in which to write them. That sometimes make me feel very anxious—like I’ll never catch up to my inspiration—which distracts me from writing at all. I will also often get inspired for future stories when I’m in the middle of writing a current one. That makes me want to jump around and makes it hard to focus on a current project. About Noelle Adams Noelle handwrote her first romance novel in a spiral-bound notebook when she was twelve, and she hasn't stopped writing since. Stripping teaser 2

Excerpt: “Oh, no,” he said, starting to his feet. “You’re not touching my beard.” “But you’ll look so much better if you’ll let me neaten it up a bit.” “I’m not trying to look good.” She rolled her eyes but didn’t look surprised. “Anyway, I wasn’t thinking about your beard. Right now, I’m after the back of your neck.” “What’s wrong with the back of my neck?” “It’s a mess. When was the last time you got your hair cut?” “I don’t know. I don’t fuss around with things like that.” “Well, it bugs me, so sit still.” He stiffened and watched her suspiciously as she walked around behind him. “I’m not going to touch your big, ugly beard. I promise.” He rolled his eyes but didn’t object when she started to run the trimmer along the back of his neck. “Are you sure you want to do this at the dining room table?” “Better here than on one of my rugs.” He felt uncomfortable as she worked on him, conscious of her body behind him. When he felt the trimmer come toward his jaw, he muttered, “Don’t get carried away.” “Relax.” She turned the trimmer off and leaned over to blow the hair off his neck. The sensation made Ben tense up. He gave himself a firm mental lecture. He was not—not—going to get turned on by Mandy. He’d done really well about resisting that particular temptation over the last several months, and he wasn’t going to give into it this evening. “Oh, Ben, you’re a mess,” she murmured. She ran her fingers through his hair, rubbing his scalp in a way that felt incredibly good. “You’re not going to get any action if you’re such a gorilla.” “I’ll have you know I get plenty of action, and so far I’ve had no complaints.” He actually didn’t have much a social life, but that was by choice and not because he was incapable of picking up a woman. He did wish, however, that Mandy hadn’t brought up the idea of sex. “Yeah, but it might give a woman pause. I mean, how many are going to want to get a kiss from a gorilla?” She moved around to the side of his chair and peered at him. He was pretty sure she was assessing how much damage she was capable of doing to his beard, but her neckline was directly at his eye-level, and the wide neck of her sweater was slipping off one of her shoulders. He stared at the graceful line from her neck to her shoulder—smooth skin, deep curve, faint shadow—and then he swallowed as her beautiful hair slipped over her shoulder to fall forward as she leaned toward him to ruffle his hair. He managed to say, “Kissing me is not like kissing a gorilla.” “Okay. If you say so. Please can I give you just a little trim?” she asked. She was giving him a beseeching look, with a back-note of teasing in her expression. “No.” He didn’t actually care if his hair was trimmed, only he thought it was wiser for her not to be standing so close to him for so long. His body was starting to react to the slipping of her neckline, the flash of full cleavage, and the smell of her drifting over toward him as she moved. “It will look so much better? I bet you’d even be good-looking if we can just get rid of some of this hair.” “Being good-looking is very far down on my priority list.” She laughed and started to massage his scalp again, moving her hands down toward his neck. It felt so good as her fingers pressed hard that he heard himself make a soft moan. “You’re all tense,” she said, kneading his neck. “A massage now and then would be good for you. So would a haircut.” He raised his hands to hold onto the table so he didn’t do something incredibly stupid like turning around and grabbing her. She was just being friendly. Neighborly. She was on this search for family-feelings, and right now she was focusing them on him. But she wasn’t attracted to him—she’d told him over and over again that he wasn’t good-looking the way he was. And sex was the last thing on her mind right now. Besides, he couldn’t offer her anything more than sex, and she deserved so much more. So he gripped the table as she moved down to his shoulders. His breathing was getting ragged as his muscles started to soften. And other things started to harden.

REVIEW
by
MAZZY OBSESSED BY BOOKS

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I received an arc in exchange for an honest review

Just a warning to people that if you don't like dark reads then this isn't the book for you, as there are scenes of violence and taboo subjects.

This book is not your typical Romeo and Juliet story. It's about two people who meet in extraordinary circumstances.

Lily is such a strong person and she never gives up no matter what is thrown at her.

There will be tears from this book as there are very emotional scenes.

Jake i can understand his situation and really admire him for what he is doing.

I suppose we all do things in the name of family.

This book is an intense dark read, it's emotional but we do get our HEA.

This book does deserve more than five stars .

PROLOGUE
Hopelessness wraps around my body like a tight cord. Alone and beaten, each breath comes quicker. My eyes are almost swollen shut, with only tiny slivers of light shining through to let me know it’s daytime. Thick, rough rope scrapes harshly against my wrists. A dirty white dress, held up on my shoulders by thin straps, covers my shaking body.
What have I done? I failed in my escape, caught in the grasp of evil again. Have I failed Lily too? Will I die down here—never being able to let my sister know how thankful I am that she did everything she possibly could do to save me? I would give up anything in this world to tell her how much I love her, and to tell her to keep fighting.
So many hits to the head has left it pounding like it never has before. I've vomited twice already. I dread more may be coming up. My lip quivers and my chest expands heavily. Tears squeeze through my swollen eyes and spill down my face.
I hear the door opening, and I sense movement near my body. Hot breath heats my cheek letting me know someone’s there. "Sasha, you need to reveal to us who helped you, or things are only going to get a lot worse for you." A gruff voice I know all too well causes bile to rise and threatens to empty again.
I turn my head away and say, “I will never give up who helped me.” Only my words come out all wrong and slurred. What's wrong with my speech?
He sighs. "Fine then, the hard way it is."
I laugh in my mind. Given what I have already been through, I thought that already was the hard way.
I'm pulled upwards by the ropes around my wrists, and he begins walking. I fall to my knees as soon as I try to take my first step.
"Get up," he growls.
My hands are yanked up, and my shoulders scream from the pain. A whimper tries to escape but can't get past the lump in my throat. He grips my elbow and pulls me along with him.
Light explodes between the tiny cracks in my swollen eyes and heat from the sunshine hits my skin. I realise I’m outside. I smell the salty ocean air and feel the chilly breeze. He continues to walk me for a moment, and then stops. I'm pushed to my knees, and then my hands are lifted above my head and tied to something round. I feel it with my fingertips; it’s hard and rough, and feels like a wooden pole.
"Now, boys, watch and learn. This is what we do to slave girls who try to escape and protect traitors." I can hear the sick excitement in his voice. He has been gunning for me ever since I arrived.
My head is still thumping painfully, and my chest is rising and falling fast, waiting for the first punch to come. Trying to predict from which angle, so I can brace for the pain, I feel it.
A scream is ripped from my throat as a searing sensation runs down my back. I arch in response to the blistering pain. I sob when I realise he's whipping me.
I try to move forward to get away. When I feel it again, I scream. My back forces itself forward, trying uselessly to get away from the attacking whip.
Trying to force my hands out of the ropes to defend myself has caused my wrists to throb with pain. I want to crawl into a ball and try to protect what piece of untouched flesh I have left.
I scream again as the whip slashes through my thin dress and skin. The pungent smell of metallic fills my nose. The sliminess of my blood as the whip flicks down my back, seeps downward. The pounding in my head is growing. My eyes are begging me to open them to see, to escape. My body arches again along with a piercing scream from another strike.
Tears overflowing through my swollen eyes, I can taste the saltiness on my lips. My head sags to my chest, my breathing heavy. I sense my body going faint. I'm so tired. The promise of unconsciousness whispers on the edges of my mind. Darkness begins to envelope me.
All of a sudden, I hear screaming in the distance. I recognise that voice. It's Lily. She's getting closer. Oh, thank God, I can tell her how much I love her. How much she has been the best big sister anyone could ever ask for, and demand that she keeps fighting.
Suddenly, I'm turned over. I hear her sweet voice talking to me; she's crying. Lil's arms feel so warm around my body. Home. I'm finally home. I love you, Lil. I try to say except my mouth won't move. I scream it in my mind to her. I love you, Lily! These are my last thoughts as darkness surrounds me and the light drifts away.
