Synopsis:

Emily (Book 1)

I thought I was in love, I thought I was happy, I thought everything was perfect.

But then I found out my husband of six years was having an affair. I knew it had to be a dream, but it wasn’t. So now I’m left at square one, only now I’m a single mom also.

Dating isn’t easy but it’s especially not easy for a single mom of twin boys, with a soon to be ex-husband who’s still around. I mean what else could happen?

Throw in a hot prison guard and my ex-husband the mechanic and you have a whole mess of problems, and its only Monday!

What am I supposed to do?

Unexpected (Book 2)

In Emily you got part of my story. But now in Unexpected you get the rest of it.

True, it doesn't go the way I planned and I don't end up with the man I had planned on. But then again, that's why they say to 'expect the unexpected.'
I have a choice to make...

Do I choose my past? Or do I choose a path that is uncertain?

Only time can tell in the end. I have to choose before feelings are hurt and it's too late, causing me to loose everything I hold dear.

Sincerely,
Emily

Excerpt
“Someone’s dogging ya,” Kidd says as he nods behind me. I can hear my name being called, but I don’t want to look because he’s likely up to something. The fact that my name is being called means nothing, since the kids are always trying to get us to sign things, give them a bat during the game or even look at them. It was a thrill when it happened to me so I know what it’s like to get attention from your favorite player, let alone any player. “Just a fan, I’m assuming,” I say, shrugging him off and focusing on Mackenzie’s at bat. He shakes his head and starts laughing. “A super fan,” he says, nodding behind me again. “You might want to turn around.” “You might want to pay attention to the game. Mackenzie could hit a foul ball and smack you in the tallywacker.” “Jesus Davenport, just turn the hell around.” I roll my eyes and finally give in, but only halfheartedly. I look over my left shoulder and see no one calling me and over my right to find the same thing. “Don’t know what you’re talking about.” Kidd swings the bat a few times before he stops because Mackenzie has a hit and is now on first base. “Turn all the way around, Davenport. Stop being a bitch.” I do as he says and I’m met with a pair of green eyes that I have burnt into my memory. She’s sitting behind our dugout in the center seat. She stands and points to her shirt. The front of it says, “I’m sorry”. I can’t help the stupid ass grin that is plastered all over my face. I lean forward, resting my hands on the edge of the dugout. “Are you busy after the game?” “No,” Daisy says with a smile. “You are now,” I say, not caring that I’m probably jumping the gun and assuming she wants to see me. It’s not a guess; I know she does. “Stay right there and I’ll come get you when the game is over.” Before I know it, we’re on the Jumbo Tron with hearts all around our picture. She covers her face and I turn back to the game, only to turn around and wave my hat at the section she’s in. They roar with cheers and start chanting my name. We win, nine to one. I had a few more base hits and some RBI’s to add to our run count. Every Renegade player had at least one base hit. It’s odd when that happens, but we take it and run with it when it does. As soon as I enter the clubhouse the reporters are there. They call my name and instead of going to them, they come over to me and shove their microphones into my face as soon as I sit down. “Ethan, you made a pretty big display of affection today during the game. Do you care to tell us about your girlfriend?” “Yeah, sure,” I say, running my hand through my hair. “I’ve been in love with her for as long as I can remember. She means everything to me.” Suddenly their microphones are even more in my face. “What’s her name?” “Baseball!” I wish I had a camera at this exact moment so I can capture their expressions as they all deadpan at my answer. They’re stupid if they think I’m going to say anything about Daisy. We have a long road ahead of us and the last thing we need is the media hounding us. I do enough stupid shit that brings us plenty of attention. We don’t need any more. The reporters don’t like me much after that answer, not that I can blame them. Kidd punches me in the shoulder and winks at me. Pageflex Persona [document: PRS0000038_00074]

She gets all fidgety and nervous and adorable under my scrutiny, so I release her. Albeit reluctantly. “So, a minivan,” she says, dropping her eyes and clearing her throat. I love that I put her off balance. I doubt much gets under this girl’s skin and I’m happy as hell that I appear to be making my way in, slowly but surely. “A minivan,” I confirm, raising the wine bottle and glass questioningly. “Oh, sorry. Kitchen’s through there.” Katie points to the most obvious doorway and I head in that direction. She follows after a few seconds. When I stop at the small island, she breezes past me, setting down the glass that I brought her and keeping her face averted. Makes me think she might be blushing again. After she rummages through a drawer for another minute, she turns her composed self back to me, a corkscrew in one hand. “There has to be a story behind it.” “Behind what?” I ask, content to just watch her rather than talk. Or think. Her grin is more pronounced this time. “Behind the minivan.” “Oh, right. The minivan. I have a brother who came with me. He’s handicapped. I dropped him off at the gym on the way to the park.” Her expression softens. Visibly. “Y-you have a handicapped brother?” “I do.” “And you . . . you take him places with you? You take care of him?” I shrug. “Well, I don’t know about that. I mean, he’s grown, so . . .” “Does he live with you?” “For the most part.” “That’s . . . that’s . . .” Katie is looking at me like she’s just now seeing me. Really seeing me. After several seconds, she glances down at the counter, at the glasses she’s arranging in a straight line with the bottle of red. “That’s very kind of you. I’m sure he appreciates it.” “I’m sure he does, but like most guys, he’s got a piss-poor way of showing it.” “Just like a damn man,” she says softly, glancing up at me from beneath her lashes, the hint of a playful smile still curving her lips. “Bastards,” I reply. Her eyes sparkle up at me and it takes every ounce of willpower I have not to haul her into my arms and kiss her senseless. Which might take a while. She’s got plenty of sense about her. Too much, maybe. After a minute, when the temperature in the little kitchen is rising noticeably, Katie clears her throat again, pulling that swath of rich auburn hair over her shoulder like I’ve seen her do before. “So what is it that you drive when you’re not carting your brother around?” “Maybe if you’re nice to me I’ll show you one day.” She grunts indignantly, her lips parting yet still curved. “I’m always nice to you.” “But you could be nicer,” I tell her with a half-grin. She raises one dark brow, the sexiest damn thing I think I’ve ever seen on a woman. Besides her licking the corner of her mouth when she’s concentrating or nervous, that is. “And just how . . . nice are you expecting me to be?” “Not that nice,” I answer. “Unless you just want to be that nice. I would never argue if you wanted to be extra, extra, extra nice to me.” I give her my widest, most innocent smile. She laughs outright, an action that fills the kitchen with a delicate tinkle and turns her face from beautiful to breathtaking. A display like this from her is pretty rare, so pulling it out of her makes me feel like I’ve won the lottery. “Do that again,” I request quietly, so drawn to her that I can’t stop myself from moving closer, from reaching out, from touching. “Do what again?” she asks. When I cup her silky cheek in my palm, she straightens, but she doesn’t back away. A good sign. “Laugh.” “I can’t laugh on command,” she explains, her eyes flickering up to mine and away, up to mine and away. “I swear to God, I think I’d do just about anything to hear that again, to see your face light up like that.” My thumb blindly stroking the crest of her high cheekbone, I catch and hold her eyes this time. They’re like melted sapphires, a fathomless liquid that I could easily let myself drown in. Katie’s lips open and close a couple of times, like she’s trying to find words where there are none. But the time for talk is over. I feel like I’ve waited patiently for an eternity to taste, and now it’s time for my reward. Slowly, I bend my face toward hers, hoping she won’t move away, praying that she won’t stop me. “You’ve been on my mind since the first day I saw you, Beautiful Katie. It’s time you give me the answer to a question that’s been haunting me for weeks.” I can feel the sweet, shallow puffs of her breath fanning my lips as I get closer. “W-what’s that?” “Do your lips taste like cotton candy?” “How would I know?” she asks a bit dazedly. “Give me five minutes and I’ll tell you.” I bring my other hand up to hold her face still as I brush my mouth over hers. When she doesn’t move away, doesn’t push me away, I sink into her lips like I might sink into a bed made of marshmallows. Sweet, plump, light-as-air marshmallows. And, God help me, Katie sinks right back.   Oct 5, 2015

Release Week Blitz: Dream Caller by Michelle Sharp @msharpbooks

Jordan Delany and Tyler McGee return in this newest steamy, suspense-filled novel in Sharp’s Dream Seeker series releasing October 27, 2015 that will leave readers anxiously wanting more with each turn of the page.

About Dream Caller:

Title: Dream Caller
Author: Michelle Sharp
Release Date: October 27, 2015
Series: Dream Seeker #3
Genre: Romantic Suspense, Contemporary Romance
Length: 188 Pages
ISBN: 9780996739504

Jordan and Ty are finally together, as in living together—mortgage and all. Now they intend to enjoy a little down time. They’ve purchased an aging horse ranch with plans to renovate, but their domestic bliss is put on hold when Ty is called in to investigate a murder case.

Coincidentally, an unusually graphic nightmare about a young college student’s murder catches Jordan by surprise. In the dream, Jordan can see the girl’s pretty blonde hair. She can see the snowy ravine the girl was strangled in. Most shockingly, this time she can even see the killers face.

Being at home and still on vacation is making it challenging to figure out how to connect with this latest victim, until Jordan visits Ty’s precinct and recognizes a young man in interrogation as the murderer.

When Ty insists the suspect is innocent, Jordan debates just how far into Ty’s career she can interfere. Influencing another cop’s investigation on the basis of a dream is a line she’s never dared to cross. Even if the other cop is the man she loves.

Making the situation all the more frustrating is the sexy, red-headed Isobel Riley from Missouri Highway Patrol who is partnering with Ty for the duration of the case. And Isobel is a lot more than a mere detective consultant—she’s Ty’s ex-lover.

Excerpt:
“I’m going to ask you this one time and one time only. You better tell me the truth. Did you see David Benson kill Hailey King in a dream?”
She swallowed. Hard. Then nodded. “Yes. But I didn’t know it was your case at first.”
“But you figured it out.” He took a step back as the truth apparently started to fall into place for him. “And you figured it out Sunday when you saw David Benson in my office, didn’t you?”
She nodded again.
“Three days you’ve known, and you haven’t said a thing. How the hell could you do that?”
“Because . . .” She was unsure of the best way to defend her choice. “Because I’ve never let my dreams influence another cop’s decisions. Especially decisions as important as arresting a suspect for murder. What if I’m wrong?”
“I am not just another cop to you.” He was quiet, and motionless, for a long, miserable moment. Then he walked to the dresser, grabbed some clothes, and turned back toward her. “Or maybe I am. I guess I don’t really know what the hell I am to you. You sure as shit don’t seem to have a very high opinion of me.”
“That is not true.”
He came at her like a muscled wall of fury. “Isn’t it? I’ve tried to show you a hundred different ways that I understand your dreams. Still, you hide everything. Everything. Even vital information in a murder case.” He slapped a hand against his chest. “My murder case.”
“I’m sorry. I just wanted . . .” What? She didn’t have a good enough answer to justify lying to him. “To be normal, I guess.”
“Normal? What the fuck does that mean? I got news for you, babe: there isn’t one goddamned thing normal about either of us. My sister being murdered isn’t normal. Your family being murdered isn’t normal. Normal people don’t dream about the dead, and you know what, I don’t give a shit about normal. But I won’t be lied to.”
“I wasn’t trying to lie. I’m just afraid the dreams are going to drive a wedge between us.”
He let out a foul laugh. “Really? You think it’s the dreams driving a wedge between us?” He stepped closer and pinned her with a vicious look. “From the moment you helped me solve Tara’s murder, I have never been anything but fascinated by your dreams. I know they exist. I believe in them and I believe in you.”
He backed up, putting several feet between them. “See, the problem here is not me believing in you, it’s you believing in me. The fact that you don’t have enough faith in me to share an important truth about a case I’m working on says quite a bit, don’t you think? Then there’s the fact you seem to think I’m stupid enough to fall back into bed with Isobel just because she’s working in the same building. So don’t use the dreams as an excuse. They aren’t what’s driving a wedge between us. I’d say you’re doing a bang-up job of that all on your own.”

About Michelle Sharp:

Award-winning author, Michelle Sharp, has been nominated for a 2014 National Readers Choice Award for Best Romantic Suspense and Best First Book. In addition, her debut novel Dream Huntress has been selected as a finalist in the 2015 Daphne Du Maurier award for Excellence in Mystery and Suspense. Although she has a degree in Journalism from Southern Illinois University, she finds weaving tales of danger, deception, and love much preferable to reporting the cold, hard facts.

As most authors probably are, she is an avid reader.
