RELEASE BLITZ : LOVING ASHE by Liz Durano

Title: Loving Ashe
Author: Liz Durano
Genre: Contemporary Romance

Hosted by: Lady Amber’s PR
Blurb:

Three years after her childhood sweetheart left her for his Hollywood dream, can a celebrity romance with British heartthrob Ashe Hunter get Riley Eames' life moving again?
A booty call. A stuck elevator. A chance to move on.
When Riley Eames agrees to meet her ex-boyfriend in his hotel room “just to talk,” she knows it could only mean one thing – a booty call.
But three years after he left her to pursue his Hollywood dream, she’s determined to get answers to the questions only he can answer – until she finds herself trapped in the elevator with charming British actor, Ashe Hunter, who’s in town to promote his latest movie.
But a celebrity romance may not be enough to get Riley’s life moving again, not when the answers long kept hidden from her are finally revealed, and letting go just might be the last thing she can ever do.
Though Liz studied journalism in college, she discovered that she preferred writing romantic fiction over news and ad copy. She lives in Southern California with her family where she spends her days writing, chasing after her 6-year old, and stepping over Legos.

“Twenty questions,” Ashe said softly as Riley snuggled against him, both of them facing the window. More than twenty-four hours since they both stumbled into her apartment after a beautiful night out on the town, it was drizzling.  Water trails made their way down the window panes, casting shadows across their bodies lying on the bed.
Riley didn’t have to glance at the clock to know that dawn was approaching. They’d fallen asleep after the third time making love–the third time of crying out his name as she came, her voice growing hoarser with each gasp, each moan, each breath that left her lips. Her body was spent, though her spirits soared every time he touched her, kissed her, and pulled her towards him. She loved the way he looked at her when he made love to her, the way he buried his face in her hair, his fingers interlaced with hers that told Riley he was really there, and he was really seeing her.
He was baring her.
“Can we just start with five?” Riley asked. “I’m usually the one who asks the questions.”
“Why are you afraid of being asked similar questions you had no problems asking me?”
“I just prefer to ask them.”
“Don’t you think that’s unfair?” His voice grew lower, teasing.
“Yes, it is.”
“I don’t understand.”
“Because I’ve made my mistakes, and I don’t want to be judged because of them.”
“Do you believe falling in love is a mistake?” he asked.
“Only when there’s no guarantee that it’ll last forever.”
“Nothing last forever, Riley. But would you have wanted the last…relationship to last forever?”
She sighed. “You ask hard questions, Ashe.”
“Please answer the question, Riley. Would you prefer thatrelationship to last forever? Gareth?”
“In hindsight, no,” she replied. “He would have betrayed me anyway. If not in L.A., then right here in New York. Or anywhere for that matter.”
“You’re uncomfortable,” Ashe said. “Would you want me to stop asking questions?”
Riley turned to face him, marveling at the color of his eyes. So blue, darkening whenever he frowned. She shook her head. “It’s only fair that you get to ask the questions.”
“Even if it makes you uncomfortable?”
“Maybe it’s time for me to stop feeling too comfortable,” Riley replied as she turned to lay on her back. Ashe still had his arm around her, his other hand supporting his head. “I’ve been hiding from the truth for so long. If not drugs, then I did it by working too much. And I still do.”
“What are you afraid of?”
“The truth–the awful, ugly truth that people hide behind their lies, their smiles,” she replied. “So sometimes I don’t even try asking the questions that need to be asked. I’m afraid that I’d find out the truth and it’ll hurt. And I’m afraid of being alone.”
“But you’re not alone. So many people love you.”
“Then why do I feel lonely?”
“Are you feeling lonely now?” Ashe asked, frowning.
Riley shook her head, forcing a smile before sighing. This was exactly what she feared. The truth. But she might as well say it for in the morning, he’d be gone, and he’d probably forget all about her.
“No, right now I’m fine. But when you go–and you will go–then I will feel lonely. But I’ll be okay,” she said, looking up at him, serious now. “Any more questions?”
Ashe frowned. He was studying her face as if he was taking in every curve of her cheek, every line that would have told him she really laughed more than she cried. She was a barista after all. And baristas needed to be happy.
“Ask me if I ever feel lonely,” Ashe whispered. “Go on.”
“Do you ever feel lonely?”
“Sometimes,” he replied. “And I never felt as lonely as I did when I first met you in that elevator. Two people standing in a box, yet so distant. So alone, and so apart from each other. You on your way to something that would connect you with your past–”
“I had changed my mind then.”
“–and me walking away from people who wanted me only according to what I could do for them,” he said, smiling drily.
Riley turned to look at him. Before this, they’d lain on the bed on their sides, still facing the window with her back to him. But she needed to see him now, to see his face, his eyes.
“Is that why you started talking to me?” Riley asked. “To make a connection to something else? Something more real?”
“Someone, Riley. Not something. And you’re more than real. You’re the real thing,” Ashe said, kissing her forehead. “You made me smile my first real smile that day.”
“Well, I can be comedy relief,” she said softly though Riley didn’t laugh. There was something in his words that tugged at her.
“Well, there’s that,” Ashe chuckled, rolling onto his back as Riley turned to face him, half on her side and half leaning against him. His fingers played with her hair, pushing a lock away from her face or twirling it around his long fingers. “You’re a very beautiful woman, Riley. Never forget that.”

“The dogs that deserved a chance, the guy who needed a second, and the girl determined to save him.”

My name is Emma Sawyer.

I met Charlie and Wyatt on the same sultry, summer day. It was unexpected, leaving a feeling in the pit of my stomach like the time I drove too fast over Beckett Hill. The moment happened out of nowhere, all fast and quick and a little strange. Or maybe that was just Wyatt’s personality.

It was Charlie that brought us together. Little Charlie with those ridiculous ears. I found the dog, waiting in a pool of his own blood. Waiting for someone. Waiting for me.

Now Wyatt, he wasn’t waiting for anyone. At least that’s what he said, except I saw something different in the broken guy all alone out in the woods. I knew he needed me before he knew it himself.

Wyatt with his hidden dimples. Wyatt with his warnings to stay away. He was a hard lump of coal, ready to burn everything around him. The more he burned, the more it pulled me into the pain I saw etched on his troubled face.

I wanted to help Wyatt. I wanted to save him like he had saved all the Charlies in the world. He told me not to fall for him, but I did anyway. I fell hard and fast and deeply in love with Wyatt Caulfield.

But that was before I knew his secret.

Author Note: Waiting for Wyatt is the love story of Wyatt Caulfield and Emma Sawyer, which also features rescue animals. It’s a 112,000 word standalone, Contemporary Romance / New Adult Novel.

He rested his hands on my shoulders, fiddling with my scarf. I knew he was sad that I was leaving and he was worried about me driving in the middle of the night. I wished that I could say, I’ll text you when I get home. But that’s not how things worked between us.

“I’ll be okay,” I whispered.

“I know. I just . . . I know.” He let out a deep breath, pulling me to his chest. His mouth found my lips, tugging possessively until they were slightly sore from his kiss. And then he abruptly released me. Backing away a few steps, Wyatt let his eyes wander over me as he slipped away into some hazy stare in the moonlit shadows.

“What?”

“I’m just trying to remember you like this.” His low voice hung on each word. “With your hair falling down around your shoulders and that sleepy look in your eyes. And your lips all red from me kissing you. That’s what I want to remember. When I’m out here alone and I feel like I’m losing my mind. I want to picture you like this.”
I stared back at him, feeling my heart beat wildly in my chest. After a few moments, I climbed inside my car and drove away as my insides turned into complete mush. That might be the sweetest and most heart-wrenching thing Wyatt had ever said to me.

Trailer

Excerpt

I couldn't make myself comfortable. As I continued to shrug, he clasped my shoulders tighter. If I leaned against my car, his hips would press against me. I sagged in defeat and avoided direct contact with his eyes. This was worse than him thinking we could be friends.

"Since you're big, bad boss of this whole operation, what's going on with the bachelor party?" The man wriggled his eyebrows at me when I looked up. It was such a laughable action.

Levi was the ultimate bachelor...and rebel. He kept his hair long, rarely shaved, and often dressed in button up shirts with the first three buttons undone and sleeves rolled up, showing off his constant tan. He exuded bad-to-the-bone. And he loved it.

No doubt he had particular ideas on what Jake's bachelor party should be like. I had more than enough of a fight to deal with, why would I add a few more in the way of silicon-filled strippers?

"What bachelor party? I'm not in charge of that. I've never planned one, and don't intend to start. It's your job as the best man to figure it out." I poked my finger at his chest. Hard, warm chest, with a steady fluttering from his heart.

"Is it?" He took my hand in his and flattened my palm on his chest, halting my ministrations. I stared at my fingertips touching his exposed skin. “Maybe you and I can get together soon, just us, and you can give me ideas.” A number of salacious scenes flashed in my mind. I gulped, realizing my mistake, but the heat had ebbed up my neck and cheeks.

Drawing back my hand, I replied, "If you need help, you can call Chase." I spun around to the back of my car, reached in and took out a card from my purse, ignoring the blush on my cheeks and hoping he would, too. The hand that was squeezing my shoulder smoothed its way down to the small of my back when I faced him again. I tried not to focus on the sudden, pleasant warmth in my belly. This was Levi, Casanova of the Bay area…and beyond!

He took the proffered card. "She's the expert on all things...naughty." Chase would kill me if she found out I gave him her number. "I have to go."

He removed his hand from my back and held my door open for me. As I settled in my seat, he stuck his head in my car and surprised me with a swift kiss on my cheek, rendering me speechless with how pleasant it felt. Levi had never been this close to me before. I’d never allowed it.

After shutting the door closed for me, he leaned his arms over the opened window and cocked his head to one side. Playfulness washed over his face. "Veronica, you may not like me, but whether you like it or not, I will be around whenever Jake asks me to be there. So you'll have to get used to us being together...a lot." It felt like he was trying to say more, but I simply nodded my head, and started the car. I waited for him to back away, before I sped off. I was flustered enough to accidentally run over the guy.

Excerpt

Paul's powerful arms sweep me back into the motor home. He slams the door shut, then rips off my towel. It goes sailing through the air and lands in the kitchen sink. Jimi Hendrix is singing "Foxy Lady" in the background, and I'm feeling the vibe. My man's playing air guitar in the nude, and he's using his dick as the instrument. He knows every word and every lick of the song. It's an outstanding performance worthy of a Grammy. What a creative guy. When he mouths that I'm his little heartbreaker and a sweet love maker, he moves to the tip of his dick and gives it an extra flick. He's really getting into it as I watch him bite his lower lip. Makes me want to suck on it right now. First the lip and then more.

I start dancing freely around the compact space, a half naked flower child. The room's been decorated with 60's posters from the Fillmore West and Winterland. The Set Decorator was correct to assume I'd like that touch. We're in the mood. We may be stoned, but that won't stop us. Nothing does. Paul puts down his "guitar", then effortlessly lifts me onto the table. He unties my fringed vest and opens it so he can see my breasts. His mouth finds my nipples and he uses his tongue to tease them to hard peaks. I lean back onto my elbows and use my foot to gently push him away. I trace the contours of his impressive muscles, exploring the hills and valleys. Paul's motif would be one word. Hard.

He grabs my ankle. Lifting my foot to his lips, he starts with my toes, planting kisses all the way down to the back of my calf. I feel his warm breath behind my knee, then on the inside of my thigh. He gets within a few inches of my pussy, then pauses to catch my gaze.

"Here I come baby. I'm goin' to get you!" he shouts over the blasting music.
